My Game Review Student Feedback.
This is where any students that I have done 1-1 game reviews for can leave their feedback about the lessons that they had with me.
I'm really working hard on improving me teaching methods to try and challenge students to think for themselves but obviously if they really struggle to come up with the correct answers then I will surely fill in the blanks.
I do personal 1-1 game reviews for students all of the time and it's something that I genuinely love doing. Listening to someone have their own 'ah ha' moments never stops feeling great.
I also do 1-1 game reviews for students that have purchased or qualified for my heads up training course and again I welcome any and all feedback on this lesson.
If you want to learn more about my course then you can read about it here.
Here is an example of me conducting a 1-1 game review session for a student of mine.
Watch video here
I hope you guys are learning as much as you can from the site and my videos.
Run good.

Hello everyone,
My name is Daniel and I qualified for Brokerstar's heads up training course on Pokerstars.fr.
I had to play 100 games at the 5 Euro level to get the training, I was not the best player and to me playing these games, although I could see skill was a major factor to winning, I would play it as if it where a lottery, I would have problems with tilt, but it was not mainly down to bad beats or opponents getting lucky, it was due to my play and not really knowing how to counter specific opponents and playing a one-fits-all strategy.
After around 250 games I studied the course material(and I plan to go through it numerous times). I would recommend this course to anyone that wants to get serious about Heads Up SnGs, the amount of thought and information that Broker put in to it is phenominal. The course shows you how to counter each opponent type and how to exploit their tendancies as well as think about what you are doing and why.
100 games after the course I had free time to have the 1-1 session I qualified for. As Broker wrote, I had many 'ah ha' moments. Brokers knowledge of the game is huge, he questions you why you did something or what do you think you should have done which makes you think for yourself and if the answer or method is either right, wrong or not the option that is most optimum, he explains everything with a kind and friendly nature.
I told Broker that I do not want to look or sound like a brown-noser, but I genuinely have no negative feedback. His course and 1-1 sessions are outstanding and have helped me a great deal. I feel as if Broker genuinely puts everything he knows into the course and sessions and is always available if you are struggling.
Here is my graph since access to the course. I do realise that I am probably running to hot and given time my ROI will decrease.
Thank you very much Broker!

Hey all.
I'm a Pokerstars.fr player who received Brokerstars HU training course. I played HUSNGs for years and was having trouble maintaining decent ROI as I moved up levels. The course has helped me through the levels at stars.fr, moving from playing €3's up to €30's and shottaking at €50 in around 6 weeks. All of the material available in the course can be applied to both reg speed and turbo games... In fact, I keep a set of notes near the keyboard when I play as a quick reference for the various opponent types just to remind me to use the appropriate answer to whatever style of play the opponent adopts.
Brokerstar also took the time out to give me a detailed critique of my play across a few games, noticing leaks and discussing concepts not covered by the lessons which I applied and instantly saw a leap in ROI (not kidding, I was doing some -EV stuff particularly in the endgame which I thought was perfectly good play!)
This course is a must for anyone who's new to the game as well as intermediate players who have plateau'd and need to 'reset' their game.

This thead is almost a week old (better be careful I don't get charged by seargent Bilko for bumping ) and only two people took the time to reply. Quite sad really, imo.
I did the course, probably around 18 months ago now, not sure if it's the same now as it was then, but I doubt it has drastically changed, it has no need to. To describe it the best I can, it is "poker made easy" of course poker can never be easy, if it was there would be no one winning money would there ? It's a comprehensive guide broken down in to managable blocks, followed up by a 1 on 1 session with Broker, where you can ask him any questions you have, and he tests you, to see if you really are paying attention (not to make you feel silly, just to see if you are actually ready to move on to the next stage)
I don't think it could have been done much better to be honest, as it is just so easy to understand, and the free videos are there on the site to compliment the course, they really work well together, as you can see Broker applying what he teaches in matches he has played.
I also had the pleasure of many 1 on 1 sessions, with Hand History reveiws, videos of my games made for me, and live sweats, courtesy of being in the top team. Again, all done at a time that suited me, at my own pace, with very easy to understand, well explained coaching.
I'd like to add what I think you could do differentely, but I genuinely can't think of anything. There are 100s of coaches out there, some are probably better players than Broker. However, if you are a beggining to intermediate player, there is probably little use you spending 100s-1000s of $ on them, as the concepts they are teaching wont be worth anything without the fundamentals, which are so crucial. I have played a lot of poker over the years (badly in the main) seen a lot of coaching/course/videos, offered, I have never seen before a course that teaches you how to beat a game, or at least I have never seen one that says it can, and lives up to it. This course definitely can get you beating the micro-low stakes straight off the bat imo.
Of course the course requires a certain amount of effort from the student, but providing you apply yourself well, and try and get the most out of it, it will help you on your way to where you want to be.

Hi Everyone,
I am a pokerstars.fr player also who has taken Brokers HU training course. I had played poker (badly) for a few months until I stumbled across this site, two things kept me coming back, the wealth of free material available for anyone trying to learn the game, and the friendly and helpful atmosphere in the forum.
After watching a few of the videos, I convinced myself that this guy did really know what he was talking about and that I should give the condensed course a go.
I was extremely pleased with the quality of the content I received and believe there is more than enough information within the course for almost anyone to beat the lower stakes IF they are prepared to put the work in also.
The last part is key for me, there is tonnes of useful information in the course, but if you don't put in the effort and try to apply it properly then you will get nowhere.
I am currently going through the material a 2nd time in great detail as I didnt fully appreciate this the first time round and just wanted to get playing games.
The game review with Broker was a little intimidating for me at first, I have never done anything like it before and didn't know what to expect.
I had nothing to worry about however as he is very friendly and helpful and constructively criticises your mistakes rather than pointing out what an idiot you are.
I would say the whole course and game review has far exceeded my expectations and I would recommend it to anyone........
Hold on what am i saying? if other people take the course i'll lose the small advantage I have....
Scrap that, this course is rubbish, nothing to see here, move along

i started a new BR building thread. it's not a specific review of the one-to-one sessions but it's related and discusses my tagpoker experience in general. check it out if you have time.

Just had my game review and it was pretty much what I expected. He was easy to talk to so it wasn't awkward at all, and overall it was very insightful and was great to get an outside perspective on how I was playing.
He identified leaks, and communicated his feedback well so I felt I could take a lot from it, but I think the most useful thing was to see how a winning poker players mind works and how he thinks through hands as he plays them, because that is the essence of winning poker.
The only difficulty really was trying to remember why I had made specific plays, but overall it was very enjoyable and useful stuff. |

Hey Guys,
A lot of you may already know me but I’ve been actively on these forums for the last 8 months or so. Today was my first review session ever with Brokerstar and I honestly can’t believe what I have been missing all this time!
My 1-1 review session with Brokerstar was brilliant! He made it such an enjoyable experience whilst learning key concepts of the game. He really went into detail of my own thought process and how I need to expand from my normal thinking patterns along with many others things.
I know he doesn’t what this thread to sound too good to be true but the session really was amazing. We had a laugh, talked in detail about poker and I already feel a much better player and now know key things to work on in the future.
Anybody looking to start out or looking to improve their game should definitely get brokers course or regular 1-1 sessions. I would fully recommend him to anyone and I’m willing to answer any questions you may have about the session or course.
I wish him all the best.
