Hi,
I'd like to do a short review of the Apprentice course from Brokerstar:
I got into this when Broker opened a thread on 2+2 offering to help a struggling player to get a foothold in the game.
I quickly replied, as I had just lived through a terrible downswing playing husng turbos, being break-even over a sample of about 900 games.
Luckily I got chosen and we got to the first lesson shortly afterwards. I was amazed at the (for me completeley different) approach and already started to regain (and gain extra) confidence in my game. In the next couple of weeks we did the theory sessions and today finally the first review session.
Having a tendency to be very aggressive, it was hard for me to take on the approach Broker teaches, especially against aggressive opponents, as at first it seemed to me pretty weak, which usually makes me feel pretty uncomfortable when I don't get hands for a while. However, since I got the required patience to apply it, I like it better every day - and I already discovered (and hopefully changed for good) a lot of things I was doing horribly wrong before.
The Coaching itself went very smooth. Broker explains very well and gives great examples. When there was something I didn't understand (which was rarely the case) he always cared to explain it until I did.
Well, now for the results. The following Graph is from the first coaching session until that from today, exactly 200 games:
I am up quite a bit in EV ( about 20k in chips) so you cann assume the 20% winrate(even 30% for the 10's) this shows is not my actual one. But I think since this course I am a pretty solid >10% player at the microstakes, hopefully soon far above. |
